Release Date

Police Chief Simulator’s full version is scheduled to unlock on 17 September 2026 on Steam for Windows. Perfect Circle Team S.A. is both developer and publisher. This page is the calendar: intro builds already playable, platforms that are not listed, and the features the studio has been teasing in the week before launch.

Gameplay still lives in the Guides Hub. This article will not teach you the shredder. It will stop you from waiting for a console SKU that nobody announced.

The date, plainly

  • Full game: 17 September 2026, Steam app 2938460
  • Demo: released 20 July 2026, Steam app 4532800, free
  • Prologue – Early Days: released 20 April 2026, Steam app 4224800, free
  • Mode: single-player
  • Listed extras: Steam Cloud, Family Sharing
  • Reviews on the full app: none yet — the campaign has not launched

Steam’s store page in the days before unlock still showed the game as not yet available, with a countdown measured in days. Wishlist notifications are the official “tell me when it is live” button. Use the official links page for the store URL, Discord, and studio YouTube.

Platforms

Windows PC only is the honest summary. Steam lists 64-bit Windows 10 as the minimum OS. There is no announced PlayStation, Xbox, or macOS build for this title. Do not confuse it with other police games that have console roadmaps. Steam Deck compatibility for the Prologue was reported as Unsupported (touch/virtual keyboard needed, graphics not tunable). Treat Deck as a maybe-later, not a launch promise. Specs sit on system requirements.

Languages at launch

The store lists 18 interface languages. English has full audio; the others are interface and subtitles. The set includes French, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Polish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and more. This wiki localises English, French, German, and Spanish because eighteen sites would be thinner, not better. Simplified Chinese and Russian exist in the game client; they are not wiki locales here.

What the studio has been teasing into 17 September

Steam news in September 2026 talked about:

  • A week-out reminder that the full version launches on the 17th
  • Environmental destruction during chases (fences and scenery that give)
  • The Winston Springs shared universe with Garage Monkeys’ Car Dealer Simulator
  • Sending officers on assignments with prepared equipment once the county opens

Earlier posts introduced the worn patrol car (“Rusty Resurgence”) as the first step outside the station. Those notes are direction for the paid campaign. They are not a claim that every Prologue save already contains them. Compare builds on prologue versus full.

Price

This wiki does not lock a dollar figure while the store is still in pre-release presentation. Key shops have listed regional prices in the weeks before launch; always prefer the official Steam tag at unlock. The Prologue and Demo remain the free way to test the desk. If you only want to know whether the loop is for you, play those, then read Getting Started.

Wishlists and hype, in context

Third-party Steam trackers put wishlists around 20,000 in mid-September 2026. Prologue review scores sat in the mid-80s percent with a few hundred reviews; the Demo was in a similar band with a smaller sample. Those numbers describe interest, not a Metacritic for the full campaign. Wait for launch-week reviews before you treat any percentage as the finished game.

How to spend the days before unlock

  1. Install the Demo or Prologue.
  2. Run the first-day checklist.
  3. Learn stamps and faxes.
  4. Confirm PC specs.
  5. Join the studio Discord from official links if you want hotfix chatter.
  6. Come back to patch notes after 17 September, when the real changelog starts.

If a streamer title says “EA full release” a few days early, assume a preview build. The public Steam date on this wiki stays 17 September 2026 until the store page says the game is available.
