1. Putting rejects in the scanner

Green stamps do not print money by themselves. HQ pays when accepted files go through the fax, and only if those files are clean. A busy blotter with a silent wallet is a fax problem.
3. Ignoring TAB
Inventory is TAB. Stash several boxes. The hallway is not a cardio minigame. This single bind is the difference between a thirty-minute furnish and a three-hour furnish.
4. Placing sealed cartons

5. Glassing every line
The magnifying glass costs energy. Use it when a field looks wrong. A chief who inspects every character on every form will be empty before the lunch queue.
6. Forgetting the rejection cause
Red stamp is not enough. Mark why the form fails. The game can throw a “no reason to reject” failure if you skip the cause, which feels like the sim is broken when it is actually asking for a checkbox.
7. Decorating before the desk exists
Heaters, kettles, and extra chairs are bait. Buy forms, fax, shredder, then the detective kit. Reputation from faxed cases funds the pretty rooms. Décor does not fund the fax.
8. Leaving the lobby closed
Furniture in the room is not “open.” Throw the lever. Order more forms when the tray is empty. A silent station is usually a closed station or an empty tray, not a bug. The first-day checklist exists for this.
9. Hiring a crowd on day one
Staff multiply a working precinct. They do not replace a missing fax. Hire when the queue beats you, not when you are still unlocking power.
10. Judging the whole game by the broom
The Prologue is supposed to feel like cleaning a ruin. The Demo adds streets. The full launch is sold as districts, patrol units, gang leaders, and later environmental destruction during chases. If you bounce off the broom, read prologue versus full before you write the title off. If you love the broom, you will like the desk. Small habits that stack
- Answer the rotary phone. Ron is the quest log.
- Open the lot barrier for trucks and for yourself.
- Park the cruiser where civilians can still reach the steps.
- Keep a spare pack of forms in TAB.
- Wipe a stuck evidence board with the red button instead of restarting the save.
- Rename saves with R (Hotfix #8) before a risky renovate.
